What Is It?

This controller keypad board is a purpose-built joypad option board designed to pair seamlessly with your retro TV game console (such as the AY-3-8500 Pong emulation board). It features five tactile push buttons – Up, Down, Left, Right, and Fire – giving you precise control for paddle games and other vintage titles. The board also includes a power LED for clear status indication and three connectors that plug directly into the retro TV game board. Everything is pre-assembled and ready to use.

Why Did You Make It?

The controller board was developed with multiple targets in mind. While it can be used as a standalone gamepad, its primary purpose is to serve as an add-on board that slots directly over the retro TV controller, transforming the entire setup into a compact, all-in-one TV console. No tangled wiring, no separate controller housing – just a clean, integrated gaming system.

• On-Board ISP Programming – An extra connector allows you to program the main board (e.g., the ATmega328) directly through an ISP interface using a standard serial-to-USB cable. No need to remove chips or access hidden pins.

• Future-Proof Auxiliary Port – An auxiliary expansion port is included, enabling you to interface new hardware down the line – additional controls, lights, or custom mods.
