Available in USB-A models, the USB Keep Alive is the ready-to-use version of our popular through-hole kit. It’s designed for those who want a reliable, pre-assembled solution without any soldering.

How It Works

The device sends a periodic 100mA power pulse. When used alongside another low-power device, this small draw is typically sufficient to prevent a powerbank from entering standby mode and shutting down.

Important Considerations

Compatibility: Works with standard 5V devices only. It is not compatible with Power Delivery (PD) or Quick Charge (QC) adapters, which may cause damage.

Dual-Device Requirement: The Keep Alive cannot function alone; it must be used with another device drawing a small amount of power.

Customization: Advanced users can adjust the pulse strength by modifying resistor R1 (default 47Ω for ~100mA). Note that this requires SMD soldering skills and proper tools.
