uSDX TriBand SDR – 3 Band All Mode QRP Transceiver PCB Kit
The uSDX TriBand SDR PCB Kit is a compact and highly efficient 3-band HF SDR transceiver platform designed for amateur radio operators seeking a lightweight, low-power, and fully functional QRP radio system. Based on the well-known uSDX architecture, this design delivers multi-mode operation in a simplified and modular construction suitable for portable and field use.
This kit provides the essential PCB foundation for building a complete all-mode HF transceiver, supporting popular digital and voice modes such as SSB, CW, AM, and digital modes (FT8/FT4 via external PC sound interface) depending on configuration.
The uSDX TriBand system is built around a modular architecture consisting of a main transceiver board, PA (power amplifier) stage, and band-pass filter system, enabling operation across three selectable HF bands. Band switching is achieved using a simplified hardware approach that keeps the design compact and efficient while maintaining reliable RF performance.
A key feature of this system is its Si5351-based frequency generation, providing stable and accurate signal synthesis across the operating range. The receiver and transmitter stages are optimized for low power QRP operation, typically delivering up to approximately 5 watts output depending on band and configuration.
The design philosophy follows a KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach, making it accessible for experienced builders while still offering strong performance in portable and SOTA-style operations.
The PCB layout is designed for integration into a compact enclosure with front and rear panel mounting options, making it suitable for field deployment and backpacking radio setups.

System Overview
The uSDX TriBand operates as a hybrid SDR/QRP transceiver, where RF generation and processing are handled by the onboard hardware while digital modes and fine signal processing can be handled externally via a PC.
The system uses plug-in or switch-selected band-pass filters to isolate HF bands, ensuring efficient harmonic suppression and clean transmission. The Si5351 synthesizer provides stable multi-frequency generation for both transmit and receive paths.
The design is particularly suited for portable amateur radio operations, including SOTA (Summits On The Air), backpacking, and emergency communication setups.
